Psychotherapist MA - Neuropsychologist MSc

A fully registered and licensed person-centred psychotherapist who is passionate about helping people live more authentic lives

A life in touch with your deepest needs and wants, a life where you are in contact with your emotional and psychological processes, a life where you can accept the parts of yourself that have been harshly disapproved, a life in peace with your inner processes and directions.

My Path to Psychotherapeutic Practice

As an undergraduate psychology student, I perceived therapy as passively listening to people’s problems. Something I never thought I could get excited about. I also struggled with listening to, accepting, and even being with myself in constructive ways. So the concept of psychotherapy seemed distant and alienating, and becoming a psychotherapist seemed mystical. Yet the distance and alienation moved me to pursue this path with vigour and diligence.

The Turning Point in My Journey

The turning point in my journey came when I read Irvin Yalom’s “When Nietzsche Wept” while earning a master’s degree in neuropsychology. This influential work illuminated the profound importance of mutuality, acceptance, and authenticity in the psychotherapeutic process. It underscored the life-changing potential of the therapeutic relationship for both client and therapist. This realization ignited my passion to become more authentic and help others do the same, and it inspired me to pursue a master’s program in person-centred and experiential psychotherapy.

Experience Working in Mental Health Organizations

Upon graduating, I established my practice while also working as a psychotherapist in mental health organizations. This dual role allowed me to combine the insights gained from both private and organizational settings. Working in mental health institutions as a trainee and newly qualified therapist, I was exposed to a broad range of psychological issues. Some were so complex that they profoundly shaped my ability to help people cope with emotional, psychological, and behavioural challenges.

I learned to conduct therapy sessions that offered clients a safe space to express their feelings and concerns and helped them manage their mental health conditions and navigate challenging situations. My role often involved intervening in moments of crisis and assisting clients in taking appropriate actions. This experience enhanced my professional capabilities, deepened my understanding of clients’ emotional and mental struggles, and allowed me to empathize with them. It also increased my sensitivity to clients’ cultural backgrounds and my understanding of how their backgrounds influenced their mental health.

Private Practice in London

In my private practice, I maintain a warm and safe space where I can engage with clients authentically based on the core values of person-centred therapy. I started with virtual sessions and then transitioned to in-person meetings. This shift has deepened my connection with clients and allowed me to more effectively address the issues they bring to therapy.
